We adored Hollywood in the 50's and 60's.  The movies were our escape into that other world of fantasy and alter-reality.  The Movie Stars of the day were larger than life.  We knew every one of them by name.
We pretended we were them by dressing and talking as they did.  We played cowboys, and every kid was Roy Rogers or Gene Autry, or Hopalong Cassidy.  Every little girl wanted to look like Marilyn Monroe or be as popular as Twiggy.  Here are the most popular movies and records of the times.
